Forgot to pay our stamp duty!
5 months on from our sale and purchase and we’ve just had a HMRC demand and fine for non payment of stamp duty. The solicitor has had it for all this time and I can only assume thought it was a bonus! Better still there is no rush to resolve it as the solicitor is on holiday so we will have to wait until she gets back as there is no one else who can put the huge mistake right!
