It is a general frustration with Solicitors that when they go on holiday the file at best gets’ baby sat’ by colleagues. THP have a different attitude, Rachel Gaylor one of the senior partners actively promotes that she ensures files are fully managed by colleagues when the fee earner is on holiday, this she says ‘is not just for the benefit of the client but also to ensure her colleagues can go and come back from a break without added pressure’. I have seen this happen in action, I want to especially thank Emily Jones who took over a file from a colleague where I was buying a property. Emily’s enthusiasm and want to get it done attitude was great, Emily worked hard to get the purchase exchanged within the required timescale. Having been in the property profession for over 40 years I can say that this is a very refreshing attitude, typical THP but sadly not typical of most legal firms.

Our estate agent recommended us to Emily Jones as she is known for her tenacity to get things done, which unfortunately is a quality not all solicitors are known for :)

We instructed Emily and she certainly lived up to her reputation. We had a tight window for completion and Emily and Fiona were great in progressing our case, being prompt on any questions and generally just being lovely people to engage with during what should be a stressful phase. In summary we completed successfully and we also massively appreciated Emily getting everything sorted and replying to emails even though completion took place on her day off! Thank you THP team

This review is in respect of Emily Jones who has acted for me in four transactions over the past eighteen months (two sales and two purchases). Having had four transactions in such a short timescale has meant I have been exposed to four other solicitors' practices, most of whom displayed a frightening lack of competence - the latest ones even said they didn't expect Emily to be so efficient! Emily has shone like a beacon throughout. She is highly competent, professional, straight-talking and one of the hardest workers I have ever come across. No matter how bad things are (and they have been horrendous) Emily always resolves the issues. I have greatly enjoyed working with Emily and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Thanks for everything Emily.

I can very solidly recommend THP. I think I have started using the term ‘my solicitors’ when talking about them. I don’t normally leave reviews, but after a recent (difficult) house sale, both the solicitors and estate agent deserved one. Until about 10 years ago I had only used a solicitor once or twice for conveyancing and I guess you take whoever comes your way. Since then, I have had redundancy, an employment contract dispute, a consent order, probate and more conveyancing.
I have always dealt with women at THP, I don’t think I would want to change that now. They have all been superbly efficient, human, personable, tolerant, professional, knowledgeable, timely, communicative and most importantly reassuring. If it had been man to man, I am not sure we could have or would have dealt with things in quite the same way, if I am honest.
The employment contract dispute was sorted by Alexis Lane within a free ½ hour consultation. In, out, I was in the right, no debate, company stumped up. It was a trifling amount, but a moral victory on principle.
Julia Drury dealt with my consent order. I had already consulted another prominent female local solicitor who specializes in divorce and the difference in approach was marked. With Julia, there was no ‘blood & guts’, whipping into a frenzy of hate where only the solicitors win, which is why I chose her. A divorce is already a hard enough situation to be in. I felt that she held my hand throughout the process and gave good steer on what was practical and achievable, never over promising. The outcome was as good as I could hope for and she kept me grounded during a difficult time.
Conveyancing for a probate sale recently was dealt with by Emily Jones, who is a funny and approachable force of nature (and also couldn’t have been more highly recommended by the estate agent I used). She was ahead of the game all the way through. I had to make a difficult decision at the 11th hour after months of waiting for buyers. Emily acted exactly as I requested, but I also found out later from a separate source that she had quite strongly defended my decision and approach with her counterpart for the buyers – not sure you can get much more onside than that and all I can say is that I am glad she was on my team!
I have come out all of these situations feeling that I have had a fair outcome and they have done their best for me.
Typically, I got quotes for the larger pieces of work before starting, if I need a solicitor in future I am unlikely to bother. THP aren’t the cheapest, nor the most expensive, but for me, they were the correct option and with hindsight offered good value. No one wants to deal with a solicitor - it typically means something sh*tty is happening in your life. You have no real way of knowing who you are choosing and how they are going to treat you……….which is why I wrote the review.

I cannot recommend The Head Partnership enough. Emily Jones is nothing short of sterling in her knowledge and execution of it in what can be the most stressful time for anyone buying or selling a house, let alone with the added complexity of Covid and lockdown. Not once did I ever feel like I was just another client, but always felt like I had her full attention at all times. Emily is professional and thorough, and a credit to her profession and firm. Purchasing my first home back in February was exciting yet daunting. The sheer amount of information to digest and consider was overwhelming. Emily (Jones) was a great help in smoothing out this process and helped chased different parties to make the purchase a very speedy one. We completed in around a month which was ahead of schedule and this allowed me to move and settle into the new flat very quickly. This was the second time my family have appointed the Head Partnership and would recommend them to anyone looking for a conveyancing solicitor.
