I am a Private Client Solicitor based at our Bramhall office. I specialise in Wills, Estate Administration, Trusts, LPA’s and Deputyship applications. I qualified in 2004 and am very proud to say that I became a full member of STEP in 2013. I have many years of experience dealing with complex and often sensitive matters. I particularly enjoy Estate Administration and I think this is because it allows me to build a more longer term relationship with my Client’s and their families. I feel that my role is to make a Client, at our very first meeting, breathe a sigh of relief that they are leaving, knowing that I am going to make things easier for them/take away things which they find hard or painful, and feel confident that the next time we meet, progress will have been made. I see the main issues to be dealt with and get on with dealing with those. I like the curve ball my area of law throws in and that case which tests your abilities, maybe throws up a matter not previously dealt with and the achievement felt having resolved it. I love being able to see the issues to be dealt with and being able to get on and sort those out.

We have nothing but praise for Butcher & Barlow and for Helen Chadderton in particular. Helen drafted our Wills and patiently guided us through the process explaining each clause and making sure we understood their meaning. Following some fine tuning we signed our Wills and left their office feeling very happy that with Helen’s help, we had done all we could to protect our family. We would happily recommend Butcher & Barlow to anyone thinking of making a Will.

Excellent service drawing up a complex will and 2 Lasting Powers of Attorney for me. Helen Chadderton was patient, clear, and gave me plenty of time and materials to consider my options. Her admin team are excellent - responsive and thorough. Highly recommended!

Following the death of our mother, my sister & I sought the advice of Helen Chadderton from Butcher & Barlow Solicitors, regarding the disposal & settlement of our mother's estate.
Helen explained in very clear detail exactly what would be involved in the whole process. She offered to deal with this enormous task in its entirety, much to our relief!
Over the following few months, Helen & her assistant Ellisa Clark dealt with Banks, Utility Companies and various Government/Council Departments, bringing everything to a successful conclusion shortly after our mothers house was sold.
Helen & Ellisa were always happy to answer any questions that we had; consistently kept us updated on the state of play, and were always compassionate with us. The fees for all of the work that they carried out were more than fair, and I cannot recommend Helen, Ellisa & Butcher & Barlow Solicitors enough.
