my divorce

I sadly got divorced after 43yrs, it was a difficult time for me and David Charles was very helpful and understanding , guiding me through the process, he responded and acted quickly to my instruction , as opposed to my ex partners solicitor , who seemed to take everything at a snails pace.
I would recommend Darby&Darby for anyone needing legal services , I've used them on several times over the last 20+ years and have recommended them to several friends , all have rated them very highly.

A breath of fresh air.

I knew selling my 90 year old parents bungalow would be a difficult experience, but I was wrong, thanks to the professional, friendly and compassionate manner from everybody I dealt with at Darby & Darby.

It was so refreshing to use a local firm that meant that we could have face to face meetings, rather than use the web based dashboard system that we experienced with our previous national chain Law firm.

From offer to completion only took 10 days, I have to say I was astounded.

I couldn’t recommend Darby & Darby enough, and will certainly use them for our future legal work.

LPA process

I was recently diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimers so I was advised to set up a lasting power of attorney and will which I have done with Darby and Darby.
Anthea Wilson who dealt with me all the way through the process was very patient and professional with me, explaining the processes in detail as I can get very confused with paperwork now.
Darby and Darby kept me up to date with what was happening throughout and made the appointments around my availability very easy.

Brilliant Professional Service

On moving to Devon in 2016 we decided to amend our wills and in 2018 employed darby&darby solicitors after looking at the previous reviews. We saw Ben Darby and his attention to detail and excellent customer service was superb. We have recently amended our wills (2024) to reflect some changes in our children's circumstances and once again the service, this time being Andrew Carman, was once again courteous, professional and comfortable. Very welcoming as new clients. Nice main office and staff very polite. Pleasant to of been bade goodbye by staff when leaving. Not so good was the amount of time sending legal papers to family members for signature FOUR weeks after matter dealt with. With it presently taking some 20 weeks for Power of Attorney to be registered, this delay has only added to this time and is quite disapointing.

I was referred to Mrs Stephanie Sutherland firstly to help me draw up my Will which she did efficiently and with huge patience. I then required advice on acquiring LPAs for both Property & Finance and Health & Welfare for myself. Once again she was amazingly patient and helpful in explaining and completing the necessary forms. Apart from the business side of things, she is fun to be with!
