We are very happy to hear that your overall experience with us was a positive one, and we always welcome ways for us to improve upon the service that we provide to our clients. We are sorry for any confusion or hassle that your change in solicitor caused, unfortunately the solicitor that was initially acting for you had left the firm and based on the length of time it took to get the draft contract pack from your sellers solicitor, they were unable to see you through to completion, although we certainly tried to ensure that there was little to no disruption felt whilst the file moved hands. We certainly note your comments on being a bit more forthcoming with the updates, to avoid you feeling as though you had to chase us for updates. we do have a specific set up to ensure that our clients are informed when we reach the more important stages of the process (when an MOS is received, when draft papers and received/issued, when a clients mortgage offer is received and enquiries have been raised etc). what you will find is once the enquiries stage begins, there is very little to update you on as until such a time as the enquiries are all satisfied, it is more of a consistent back and forth between your solicitor and the other solicitor who are working together to get the enquiries sorted. Any updates you receive during this time you will find to be more of the same 'We have received some replies but await the remaining ones to come in' or something to that effect. In our experience we have found that this can frustrate clients more as it can appear as though very little is being done, when in actual fact there is quite a bit of movement but some enquiries can be quite tricky to get the necessary information that would satisfy the question at hand. We will always provide an update whenever an update is requested. You are, of course, well within your rights to know what is happening on your transaction at any point, but you will find that this tends to be why (at this stage of the process at least) it feels like communication dwindles somewhat. We will certainly look at methods to rectify this situation for the future and thank you for your constructive comments.
