Sophie assisted, sorted and dealt with my in-depth, emotional child custody case, with empathy and she was not just highly professional and dedicated to my case, she was a person who I could talk to about this delicate issue without worry, she reassured me whenever needed, explaining things clearly and simply, which made the whole process a lot easier to deal with.
My case has now closed and we got an amazing outcome, which was all down to Sophie, and her hard work, I would highly recommend Sophie to anyone!

Despite James being recommended by my mother, I found the whole experience rushed, not listened to, too forceful, and not laid out in layman’s terms. My sister had a similar experience. Additionally, I wasn’t told we’d gone slightly over an hour and was charged a lot!

I've worked with Belderbos Solicitors extensively over the past three years through a challenging divorce, including assistance and support through mediation, a financial remedy claim and child arrangement applications. James and the team have always delivered advice in a professional and proactive manner, seeking to reduce the tension, and supporting me in a holistic way. Where necessary they recommended appropriate experts and barristers. I would recommend them to anyone facing the challenge of separation and divorce as without their support I would have struggled considerably.”

Was signed up to by Sophie by James Belderbos but she wouldn't argue my case, had me fill out a form E whilst the opposition didn't ask to do so as to keep costs down etc and had a two month period of being busy or on holiday. James took over my divorce case after Sophie decided she couldn't work with my case. James agreed that what Sophie agreed to paying my ex spouse wasn't acceptable. James took over the case and did fight my corner so no complaints there but there was errors on the final form E that I didn't agreed to and mistakes that weren't mine but I footed the bill just to expedite the process. There's no options in the below as to "How you would describe this firm". My advise to individuals going through a divorce is to shop around and not panic when you get told you need a solicitor.

I helped my sister through her divorce and together we decided on instructing James Belderbos to handle all the legalities of the seperation, divorce and settlement.
My sister was in a terrible state having been in an abusive marriage for over forty years. James was not only knowledgeable and practical but was also incredibly empathic.
He was kind and gentle with her, giving her plenty of reassurance and support. Any time my sister didn't understand he went through things again and used language that she could understand.
My sister is now a very different person to the one she was when we first walked into James's office. She is now much more assertive and independent and is free to enjoy life.
My sister felt very confident in James's caring and reassuring professionalism and we both would highly recommend the Belderbos practice to anyone in the same situation.
Keep up the excellent work guys. You're all a credit to the firm.

When I spoke to James Belderbos regarding separation, divorce and child matters, I found James to have a very open and refreshing approach. He strongly encouraged a non-combative approach through the use of mediation and collaboration, stating that courts were to be viewed as a last resort in resolving conflict. James was also clear on his message, advice and was punctual in meetings not looking to extend the time unnecessarily. Because of this, I was able to keep meeting times and costs to a minimum. I would strongly recommend James to anyone who needs a calm guide on the legal complexities of separation and divorce.
