I used Comptons for all our three transactions in 2022 and were delighted with the service offered by Daniel Gower and his paralegal Philip Hitchcox. For this reason, I went back to this law firm to help me and my partner with our wills and lasting powers of attorney, as well as those of my sister.
It all started on the wrong foot with draft documents bearing our old address, followed by a misspelled surname, no instruction given about the dating of the LPAs, misspelled address, omissions, etc. and even my sister’s date of birth not properly recorded, and incorrect information of her beneficiaries. They even omitted to send my sister her draft will. The solicitor dealing with us even attempted to use me as a third person liaising with my sister for him, but I pointed out to him that my sister was his client and he had the responsibility to talk to her directly and not through me. We still don’t know if our LPAs have been submitted for registration and are waiting to hear from them so we can settle our fee for this work. It has been such a bad experience it isn’t true.
I emailed the managing partner to let him know of our bad experience, hoping he would to something to help but it has been 3 weeks now and I haven’t heard from him.
We all just wish to finish the business with them ASAP.

We used Daniel Gower for the sale of a flat and purchase of house over the last few months. Without exception, his service was excellent. Prompt responses meant that we knew where we were in the conveyancing process at all times. He was thorough and patient and personable. Supported by Philip Hitchcock who also was excellently efficient and helpful, the whole experience was stress free (as any conveyancing can be!). Recommended without hesitation.

We are trying to purchase a flat during a quick sale. The seller's agent recommended Daniel Gower from Comptons, saying that a responsive solicitor is critical for a quick transaction.
Indeed, Daniel and his team were super-responsive. Sometimes, he even answers emails on weekends!
Daniel also has admirable integrity. We had to change solicitor (since the commercial mortgage lender requires specific solicitor panels and Comptons is not on this particular panel). Daniel graciously allowed me to transfer without imposing charges. In fact, he has already done work for me (e.g. answering my questions). Yet, he still chose to not charge me (since he "had not looked at my search pack results"). Amazing graciousness.
Overall, Daniel Gower is superb.

Me and my partner chose Lisa Noble to handle our home purchase as FTB after a recommendation. Lisa and Aaisha were both by far the most competent and responsive people of the entire process, in a chain of 4. They went above and beyond in explaining everything to us as well as chasing the rest of the chain to the point that we were done months before everyone else.
