Above and beyond

Some confusion over searches when we stipulated none required. However Peter Shell was outstanding and went above and beyond to get the exchange and completion in time.

Patient and clear advice

The service was of high quality. During the course of the process, when I felt under a lot of pressure/stress, Ashfa was very patient with me and she listened to me and explained things which helped to reassure me. Thank you Ashfa.

AVOID! AVOID AND SAVE YOU LIFE !!

Absolutely appalling, inefficient and careless service by PLS Solicitors particularly case handler Jackson Keats. I purchased my house through PLS Solicitors in Nov 2020 and again contracted them for conveyancing services to sell the same house on 3rd Sep 2024 (PLS Case Ref 614668). But found that a lot of important documents were missing as were not obtained by them during original purchase. A case of extreme negligence. Communication was awful and extremely delayed, in fact, Jackson did not care to respond until I call and send reminder emails...and many times he lied about progress. I complained to his Manger Caroline but nothing improved as she was also slow and did not care for client. After almost three months of stress and spending extra costs, I formally lodged complaint to directors and senior management of PLS Solicitors but received stereo type reply and no concrete action taken to resolve the issues despite lapse of a month. Now almost four months and 20 days passed but they failed to fully respond to the enquiries from buyer's solicitors with required documents, raised on 16 Sep 2024. Hence, they failed to contract exchange as yet. Now, I am going to file legal case and complaints to relevant authorities against them for spoiling the sale deal and causing us loss of money, time, efforts. Suffered a loss of several thousand pounds and continuous mental stress. I read a lot negative comments about awful services and unhappy customers of PLS Solicitors. As I am initiating legal proceedings against them so would appreciate if other victims/unhappy customers can join hands with me (without cost sharing) so we can fight for our legal right and compensation. MUST AVOID TO SAVE YOUR LIFE & MONEY!!

Firstly, the context of this review. We dealt with Amy Atkinson's Team, primarily Clare and Chloe. They were instructed on 21st February with the intention of completing a purchase of a new property by a 1st time buyer on or before the 31st March. The objective seemed stretching but achievable and was actually achieved on the deadline day.

Whilst we got to the destination the journey was fraught with difficulty and a real roller coaster. The early impression was that PLS had received a bad audit report on money laundering checks so were being pedantic in the extreme and seeking historic information way beyond the previous 6 years. They also wanted historic gifts documented as current. There were frustrations involved in being unable to speak directly with decision makers.

As we got closer to exchanging contracts it became obvious the Portal facility was not being updated with progress. Whilst it was useful as a site for downloading documents it performed only a small fraction of its functionality and the Tracker feature became redundant. The Portal charge is £135 + VAT and was totally overpriced for our transaction. A failure to display the monies received added considerably to the stress involved, particularly given the frequent stories that are published about criminals intercepting such transactions.

So a very mixed picture. They probably had insufficient resources to handle the volume of work and being under so much pressure resulted in a customer experience that was below average during a time of high volume property deals. In fairness other teams in quieter times have attracted superior customer ratings.

I just have to say a massive thank you to Nicola who I've just been on the phone with.

I'm halfway through a remortgage and my original conveyancer has completely let me down at the last minute. Having used PLS before to purchase my property I thought I'd give them a call to ask if they can assist.

Nicola was just excellent on the phone, got me a quote so quickly and was so compassionate about the situation! That real human touch - thank you so much for helping me and I look forward to working with the team again shortly for the remortgage

We have had a fantastic experience using PLS to sell our previous property & buy our new property. We have been under Peter Shell & his team and have had nothing but a positive experience with Peter & Michelle.

We found the PLS portal particularly helpful as we were able to go on and use the ‘tracker’ to see exactly what was going on.

Peter & Michelle replied quickly to my (many) emails & always explained things really well.

Thankyou so much guys!
