After almost four years since I was seriously assaulted my case finally came to settlement last week.
The time taken was down to my criminal court case constantly being delayed by the other side and therefore delaying my civil case.

As a survivor of childhood trauma, I find it difficult to trust people. I also feel inadequate communication and being around other females. So I was a bit apprehensive when I started my journey with Emma, but with her professionalism, empathy and non judgemental attitude, and commitment, my journey was made easier and I did not feel the need at any time to put my protective barriers up. This leading to a positive outcome. I am now feeling for the first time in my adult life that the weights i have been carrying have been lifted from my shoulders. What a waste of time! I have put so much time in to everything they asked me to do even spending money to get to appointments ect to be told that they are no further forward with the 3rd party and wouldn't feel confident going to court after nearly a year of waiting so disappointing

You initially contacted us seeking assistance with a potential medical negligence case, which you advised had already been raised in Court by another firm of solicitors. However, when we asked for information to assess your case, including details of your current representation and authority to obtain your file from your original solicitor, you declined to provide this. In Scotland, it is not possible for two solicitors to represent the same individual on the same matter at the same time. Without sight of the relevant case file or evidence, it would have been irresponsible and unethical for us to offer representation without first properly assessing the merits of your case. Unfortunately, due to your unwillingness to provide the necessary authority to review the file, we were unable to proceed. We understand that dealing with legal matters can be stressful, especially when already facing difficult circumstances, and we regret that you felt let down.
