Avoid this company at all costs to prevent financial turmoil

I used Savage Silk for the purchase of my home in early 2020. Five years later, while trying to remortgage, I discovered they failed to register a crucial discharge provided at completion. This oversight has made it impossible for me to remortgage costing me many thousands of pounds in avoidable costs.

Worse, they've refused to engage meaningfully, despite formal complaints, a pending Legal Ombudsman case. Instead of accepting responsibility, they delegated to their partner organisation, HS Conveyancing without my consent, adding confusion and delay.

Their mistakes have caused real financial harm and continue to do so - including increased mortgage interest, Help to Buy penalties and the expiration of my mortgage offer. I am now taking action against them for professional negligence.

If you value your time, money or peace of mind, stay far away from this firm. Their internal failures, evasiveness and disregard for professional duty have made this the worst legal experience I've ever had.

Right from first contact we were impressed with their efficiency and promptness. We dealt with Sarah and Vicki who responded to our written communication by return, clarifying and simplifying legal terminology and making sure we got what we wanted. Met with solicitor and apprentice solicitor twice to make changes to the wills of my wife and myself.
The solicitor and apprentice were very pleasant,helpful and easy to talk to. Paperwork was completed quickly and was easily understood.

I called so many solicitors in the north east to certify a simple document but the refused me so after calling savage silk lawyer the put a smile on my face by saying they can certify my document it was a relief after all that stress. Also pleased with the service and the reception staff.
