In my first meeting with James, he explained and outlined the events that would take place regarding interviews and the court process. He also discussed what the sentencing and mitigating factors could be, if I received a conviction. This was a great relief as I had greatly overestimated what the consequences could be. He evidenced his experience and knowledge relating to my case throughout our meeting, which made me feel confident I could rely on his advice. James was also very friendly and easy to talk to. He was very understanding. I was told about some of the other cases that James had dealt with, cases similar to mine. He didn’t reveal any sensitive details, but knowing other people have been through the same thing makes you feel like you're not alone. I left our initial meeting with an understanding of the process that I could not have attained anywhere else.

I was kept up-to-date throughout this whole experience and was given advice along the way. This included key information on activities I could undertake, which would act as mitigating factors when presented at court. Communication was always extremely prompt and professional. This was critical as my case ultimately became quite lengthy and complex, so I am glad I could rely on the expertise of James and ABR to facilitate the process.

I'm confident that everything that could have been done for me was done. Thanks to James's help, I received the best possible outcome for my case.

I recently hired James to represent me in relation to a sensitive matter. He is supposedly one of the best solicitors in the specific area of the law which was applicable to my case. When I met James for an initial consultation, I found him to be a very charming gentleman. He gave a very persuasive sales pitch and talked a good game. I recall him talking about how he would fight for me, and how he fights hard for all his clients. I was impressed at first.

Unfortunately, as my case progressed, he didn’t quite live up to my high expectations. The first thing that struck me as my case was progressing was that James has a special fondness for the police. I found it quite jarring and disconcerting when he described one of the police officers involved in my case as “lovely”. It was jarring considering the person he described in this manner was someone whose sole objective was to put me in jail. It led to me having doubts as to whether James was on my side or on the side of my adversaries. After my matter was concluded, I also encountered difficulties regarding the return of property which was seized from me. James and his team (he delegates a lot of the casework to his subordinates) were unable to secure the return of my property. They seemingly did not view this as a priority. It required multiple phone calls and visits to the police station from a relative of mine to finally secure the return of property to myself. If I had listened to the advice from James and his team, I suspect I would be waiting indefinitely for the aforementioned property to be returned to me. I would only recommend hiring James if you are unable to find any better options locally.

I was appointed Atifa Bhatti as my duty solicitor. She was extremely kind, compassionate and supportive in understanding my reasons for being in custody. Not everyone who ends there is a criminal, and given my circumstances Atifa really helped equip me with the knowledge to maintain my status as an innocent, law-abiding citizen.

Highly recommend ABR solicitors, I was guilty of a GBH charge but had the best possible outcome with a suspended sentence thanks to the professional team at ABR.
