Frustrating service
From day 1 the service was frustrating as the portal did not work as required, with the only section I could complete was the one where I gave Butterworths money (even this took 4 attempts as it wouldn't accept payment from my main account, which works fine for everything and is with a major bank).
I had to suggest a workaround as the call for support with the portal was from someone who told me they didn't know how to resolve the issue, with a follow up call finally finding resolution (I had to sign everything 4 times to push it through the system despite being a sole seller of a property).
I was asked to provide documents I had already sent, challenged this and had to complete a full section again, including prompting the Butterworths rep to re-open the section on the portal.
My house sale took 3 months to complete and I was providing suggestions/steer to push completion and didn't feel like Butterworths were considering these kind of steps. It felt like I was leading them rather than them leading me, which is not what I would expect for a paid specialist service.
All in all, a frustrating service and whilst staff were pleasant, I would recommend people seek alternative solicitors.

House sale & purchase
Lizzy was absolutely amazing as we're all other staff members.
It was a big ask to be able to purchase my property in a very short timescale.
Lizzy pulled out all the stops and was always just a phone call away. I did drop in occasionally if I had any queries and Lizzy was always happy to see me and point me in the right direction. Absolutely amazing lady who really knows how to steer a sale & buy.
Thank-you also to Frankie who was also knowledgeable, helpful and always kind.
Reception also lovely.

An extremely professional company
I normally do not write reviews, but I cannot recommend Butterworths enough, especially Lizzie Riley, for the efficient and professional manner with which they handled my case. I had such a bad experience before approaching Butterworths and was so impressed to see how seamlessly the entire process with them was managed. There was an on-line timeline that enabled me to view each stage of the process and Lizzie was ever so prompt with her response; ever willing to answer any question I had.

conveyance of rural property
there were delays initially because the 0nline documents hadn't gone through due to their size but this wasn't followed up by the representative and it took several calls and emails to get the case underway. there were then several changes of legal representative which made progress slow; however when Lizzie Riley took over the case things have moved forward steadily to completion.
Lizzie was on the case and communicated well once she took over; she was pleasant on the phone and timely with her email responses and instilled confidence with her explanations.
