Before pursuing a career at the Bar, I worked for five years as a Judge’s Clerk. Sitting with a High Court Judge, I was able to observe different areas of law including high profile criminal trials and the Court of Appeal Criminal Division. I gained a significant understanding of effective advocacy, procedure and legal arguments. The role also gave me an opportunity to travel to various court centres across the UK, with a specific focus on the Western Circuit. It was this job that inspired me to pursue a career at the Bar and, later, a practice on the Western Circuit.

Motoring Offence and representations to CPS
Superbly handled by various members of the Hill Twine team, from advice at the police station (Luke) through to Magistrates (Anna), representations made to the CPS (Lauren) to negotiate a reduced charge to something that would not have such a disproportionate impact on my life going forwards, and finally to advocacy at the Crown Court (Kevin) to secure an appropriate outcome.
