Unfortunately don’t recommend
Recently purchased an additional property, having been personally recommended Watermans by my mortgage advisor I was very excited indeed to get started! I put an offer in on the property, and then it went to a closing date. My solicitor then “misinterpreted” my email advising no further offers and put another offer in on my behalf without my consent. Having then set a date with my solicitor she apparently contacted the sellers solicitors to confirm the date - couldn’t remember when she phoned or who she phoned though, so moving in date extended against my wishes, as well as the solicitor having the documents for 2-3 weeks but doing nothing with them until the mortgage offer came through. Often waited 72hrs+ for a response because of “bigger priorities”. Buying a house is so stressful especially when it’s to be your home - be prepared to spend HOURS chasing for updates because they’ve better things to be getting on with. I do have to mention upon entering the leith office to chase (solicitor wasn’t there, obviously) had a wonderful experience with the receptionist - she really made a difference to a stressful day! Had to actively chase again to get cashback as part of my mortgage offer, and still 3months later haven’t received word of the seller fixing the issues the house came with. Would never ever use watermans again.
