Sam has developed a reputation for providing an exceptional level of service for his clients when advising on all aspects of property law including residential, commercial and agricultural conveyancing, re-financing, transfers of equity and acting on behalf of charities and trusts.
As a member of Tozers Residential Property team, he takes great effort to research and investigate the legal aspects of land & property before compiling comprehensive, clear and simple advice for buyers - so they have a full understanding of it before they commit to purchase.
He particularly enjoys and is experienced in conducting high value residential sales and purchases for clients looking for a solicitor to provide them with a bespoke conveyancing service, where he is always focused on overcoming any obstacles to ensure the transaction reaches a successful completion. This approach results in lots of repeat custom over many years.
Having worked in the local property market for over 10 years, Sam has well established working relationships with estate agents, land agents, surveyors and accountants. He communicates with all these stakeholders throughout the process to make the transaction run as smooth as possible.
He is a graduate of Exeter University, qualified as a solicitor in 2011, and spent several years as Head of Residential Property in a well-respected local firm before joining Tozers. Sam is a member of Agricultural Law Association and is also Conveyancing Quality scheme accredited.

Brilliant. Sam not only answered every question thrown at him with patience, but swiftly too. He did a great job dealing with an awkward solicitor and ridiculously long wait to complete on the house. Whilst away on leave his colleague Tracy Moreton was also outstanding, especially when the seller's solicitor was extremely unprofessional and rude to her. Due to her 11th negotiations we completed with a narrow deadline and saved the price of the house increasing

Outstanding job on a complex transaction
Firstly, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Sam and his team for their outstanding conveyancing work. We purchased property with annex in Mid-Devon and Sam provided us with an excellent service. His eye for detail and his thoroughness meant no stone was left unturned. Sam worked relentlessly on our transaction and made sure all elements were considered before proceeding to the exchange of contracts. Sam went above and beyond and spent more hours on our case than anticipated. Their fees were competitive and in all fairness, Tozers provides great value for money. Sam’s communication style is clear and he kept us informed each step of the way. We felt we were in safe hands and when dealing with the vendor’s solicitor, Sam was always proactive and adhered to the timelines. This is now the fourth time I have used Sam as my conveyancer, and I wouldn’t want to be represented by anyone else. Sam is an expert in dealing with complex transactions, especially potential issues related to listed building status, planning etc. We also had to consult Tozers’ planning department for advice and again, they were excellent. So, if you are looking for a fast, professional and transparent service then look no further. I can highly recommend Sam to anyone. You won’t be disappointed.

We have dealt with Sam for 2 purchases and he has been wonderful with both. We never had to chase for contact and he made everything so clear. He had a wonderful approach to client care and would recommend him to friends and family.

Although the process was more expensive due to our first buyers pulling out, we were generally happy with the service we received from Sam Reid and Laura Truscott. The only criticism is that the issues with the leasehold garage, would have been helpful if resolved earlier in the process

Major problems on CHAPS transfer but all sorted
I had a great experience through the whole conveyancing system?Sam Redid and his colleagues were always extremely helpful and efficient, shame the buyers Solicitors were not quite as on the ball
Everything went swimmingly until the transfer of funds to my account on the CHAPS system when it didn’t make it and disappeared for 5 days which was very worrying
Tozers worked really hard for us to try to sort this out. The two banks involved were awful particularly Tozers Bank Lloyds
It seems the problem was that Starling are not directly on the CHAPS system and payment comes via an intermediary. If I had known this at the outset I would have chosen a different account, something I think Tozers should mention in future. To be fair to Starling they consistently asked for a form MT103 or the full information this would normally include, however, Lloyds for some unknown reason couldn’t or wouldn’t supply it
So summary Tozers were great, Starling not so great pretty poor, and Lloyds absolutely shockingly bad
