Transfer of Equity

I am very impressed with the service that I have received from Slee Blackwell.
It’s the second time that I have used the company, once for a house sale and purchase and recently for Transfer of Equity.
The Solicitor I used on both occasions was Gemma Williams.
Everything was stress free from start to finish, if I wasn’t sure about anything all I had to do was give Gemma a call or email and the team would resolve it in a very professional way.

Debbie and the team have been absolutely outstanding as our representative.
She has had a great blend of robust and empathetic - a key skill when dealing with a drawn out process from the other side.
Without Debbie’s balance of frankness and sensitivity we may still be there.
Thank you!

We needed to revisit our wills as we have moved abroad since our last wills were made. Slee Blackwell were very professional and conducted the initial meeting on line. They redrafted our wills correctly and we signed them on a trip to the UK

My first, and hopefully only experience of criminal law

I believe other reviews have said similar, but I also had a problem, and in just over a week, it was gone.

I contacted Slee Blackwell when a constable appeared at my door to inquire about an incident, blaming me. I looked for legal advice and went with the firm that was first in criminal law at Review Solicitors. It was a good decision.

I spoke to Jen's paralegal throughout the Friday, first getting my side of the case across and relevant information, sorting out payment, and Jen made room for me in her diary for a Teams meeting that Monday morning. Jen explained the process I was currently experiencing, what the outcomes might be, and we discussed the next steps we could take. I was felt included, relief to have some clarity, and that I had a sensible person on my side. She offered to save me some money by my leading communications with the police, but I chose to rely on her experience, adding feedback where appropriate. Her correspondence to police was perfectly worded.

Though I feared I was in for a length legal process, by the end of Monday I was feeling so much better and that I was in safe hands. I still didn't expect after a week for such a good result. I would happily recommend Jen and her team to anyone who feels the pressures of the law.

We had the pleasure of meeting Erin when she agreed to draw up our Wills under the National Free Wills Network. She was very easy to get along with, as well as being thoroughly professional and knowledgeable. She was also fully aware of the needs of a visually impaired person and how to behave around a Guide Dog, Her secretary Cheryl was also excellent and kept us well informed. We would thoroughly recommend Erin to anyone who needs help with Wills and Probate.

House Sale

Slee Blackwell have been fantastic. Kirsty and her team were very professional and extremely communicative with keeping me continually updated. My buyers solicitors were horrendous and made Kirstys job very difficult, but due to her diligence and professionalism we completed on the agreed day. Can't rate them high enough.

Outstanding Service- Highly recommended

I recently used Kirsty and Claire at Slee Blackwell for my conveyancing, and I can honestly say the service was absolutely first class from start to finish.
Communication was clear, prompt and professional throughout. Every stage of the process was handled with care and efficiency, and nothing was ever too much trouble. They kept me informed at every turn and made what could have been a stressful experience feel smooth and completely under control.
I have bought and sold many properties and it's rare to come across a team so reliable, diligent, and easy to deal with. A truly marvelous job-everything you could ask for in a solicitor. Five stars isn't enough. Thank You!

Excellent help to my wife

As our house sale progressed, I became extremely ill and spent many weeks in hospital, unable to do anything. Wy wife was left handling everything to do with the move.
Debbie was quick to answer her questions in a very reassuring way and to keep her updated on outstanding aspects. Thank you so much Debbie, we are very grateful.

We used Kirsty Jones at Slee Blackwell Solicitors in Barnstaple for the conveyancing of our house sale and purchase, and she was absolutely amazing from start to finish. Kirsty kept us fully informed throughout, responded incredibly quickly to any queries, and processed everything in record time, resulting in a super quick sale and purchase. She came highly recommended to us, and we can completely see why. We honestly can’t thank her enough for all her hard work, professionalism, and support. If you’re looking for a local solicitor for buying, selling, or both, you really can’t go wrong with Kirsty Jones at Slee Blackwell Solicitors.

Had a great experience purchasing a property with Slee Blackwell acting as my solicitor. Buying a house is so stressful but everyone was really communicative with me, making sure I was updated and 'in the loop' the whole way through. Its clear that these guys actually care about their customers which is quite a rarity when it comes to solicitors. I will absolutely use them again in the future. Highly recommend

I can’t thank Caroline and the team at Slee Blackwell enough. They could have easily turned me away, but they didn’t, instead they worked ferociously for five years on my case, booking appointments for me in London gathering expert opinions, having face to face and online meetings with me, keeping me up to date, and also explaining things clearly whenever I didn’t understand (which was often!). Just an incredible team. However, beyond this, I felt like they genuinely cared, which meant a lot more to me, as a legal journey inevitably brings up a lot, and they’re a very empathetic team. Thank you to Caroline and the team at Slee, it’s been one hell of a journey, and I appreciate all your effort to get me through it. I’d recommend you any day of the week.

About this branch

Description

Slee Blackwell Solicitors are an award winning, Legal 500 recommended practice serving clients nationwide. 2020 was our centenary year. We have come a long way in the past one hundred plus years, but we remain committed to the principles of our founder Ernest Slee to provide the highest levels of professional service. We are proud to have been awarded Lexcel accreditation, the Law Society’s legal practice quality mark for excellence in legal practice management and legal client care. Our clients therefore have the peace of mind of knowing that their legal affairs are in safe hands and that their interests are being looked after by an established, accredited law firm that is dedicated to providing a first class service. While we provide a full range of legal services, we are known nationally for our expertise in a number of niche areas of law, including inheritance disputes, medical negligence and animal law. Our work has attracted a great deal of media attention. Medical negligence Lawyer, Oliver Thorne, has for instance been celebrated for spearheading the fight for justice of hundreds of British PIP breast implant victims in the French courts, as well as campaigning for the rights of mothers and babies who have been let down by our health services. Partner James McNally (awarded DASLS Solicitor of the Year 2024) has been dubbed 'The Dog Bite Solicitor' by The Guardian newspaper.
