Diane Pennington was superb when we sold our house completely different experience from the start of the process. She took over half way through and found, not only did she fight hard she also made herself available for a phone call and answered our worries very promptly. I would highly recommend this Lady if you are buying and selling your home as her excellent attitude and skills makes the experience much less stressful we cant thank her enough for her excellent service.

Excellent experience

Both Iain Grant and Elaine Riley went above and beyond to help us purchase our property. After a bad experience with previous solicitors this team restored our faith in solicitors and made the experience seem effortless. I cant thank them enough for their clear, fast, helpful communication and would highly recommend to anyone.
They turned it all around in record time and took alot of stress off the whole situation.

Butcher & Barlow are some of the most unprofessional people I have ever had the misfortune to encounter, David Kitchen is an insult to the legal profession & should be ashamed of himself.
If I can just help one person by warding them away from these useless people at least that will be some sort of silver lining

Forgot to pay our stamp duty!

This review is for a different branch.

5 months on from our sale and purchase and we’ve just had a HMRC demand and fine for non payment of stamp duty. The solicitor has had it for all this time and I can only assume thought it was a bonus! Better still there is no rush to resolve it as the solicitor is on holiday so we will have to wait until she gets back as there is no one else who can put the huge mistake right!

Dealt with these solicitors and it was pleasure to be Emma Sargeant's customer but that is it ! Every time I rang office phone was always answered by grumpy lady who seems to have bad day, actually they had a bad day everyday, speaking fast like there was a fire in theirs office - nightmare to deal with ! It is completely different at the Leigh branch (done the will there): nice ladies, trained or they knows how to deal with customer over the phone. I hope Head Office care about reputation and do something with it. Thank you.

Butcher Barlow were recommended to me by the estate agent selling my late Mum's property. I dealt with Matthew Watson who was approachable and helpful throughout the process. Their diligent actions made the experience as stress free as possible. I would not hesitate in recommending them.
